I have a Kubota BX2200 with 62 hours on it. I am very unhappy with the finish cut of the mid-mount suspended mower deck (60"). The dealer adjusted and leveled it, but my neighbor with a $1,995 Craftsman gets a better finished cut. I wish I had kept my B7200 which had a mid-mount that rolled on the ground. I am considering trading for a 7510, but that is a lot more tractor than I need. Have also looked at JD and NH, but similar sized tractors have suspended decks. I do not want to use a rear mower. Both the JD and NH dealers say their suspended decks cut better than the Kubota, but I need some objective feedback from folks in the know. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have the same combination of equipment and mine seems to cut very well for this size deck, even though I have very uneven ground in some places. The only way I think I might get a better cut would be with a narrower deck because of the uneven ground. Your neighbors Craftsman probably has a 48" and maybe that's the difference. Reading most of the BX2200 posts on this forum, I haven't seen too many that don't like the cut of theirs. Maybe you don't have the RPM's up high enough. I was doing this at first until I found out different. Hope you get it worked out. It is a nice machine.

Most people who buy the BX2200 do because they cut so nice. Something problay isn't adjusted right or your blades are dull. I sharpen mine twice a week on my commerical mowers. Blades should be sharpend every 8 hours of use. Also do you need a Bush cutter for you BX. I have a 42" landpride model thats mint for sale which came off a BX2200. Check out the classfieds. ....

Blades are very sharp. Deck has been adjusted by dealer twice. Same result. Very frustrating to me. ....

You may want to think about a rear finish mower. All ground engaging and I get an excellent cut. Some don't prefer them because of the handling, but I don't find it an issue. Easy to get on and off the tractor, and keeps the wheel weight of the tractor down while mowing, minimizing any turf damage while turning. If it works in your application, I think you'll find it is a very economical solution. ....

Well--what's "wrong" with the finished cut? Any chance you have mulching blades and are going too fast?, or (strange as it sounds) blades on upside down? I have seen them get turned over after sharpening. Maybe some more info from you will help the other posters. ....

The finish cut is uneven, not what one would expect from a mower in this price range. The blades are on correctly, and they are not mulching blades. ....

OK--if you have a good working relationship with your dealer, would they consider letting you try another deck on your machine? Would at least eliminate the deck as the source of the problem, or prove it was the problem. You could go for same size and smaller deck just to compare. ....

Check for a bad bearing or some vertical play on one of the shafts. sounds to me like one of your cutting blades is floating up and down.
